Q - Will someone assist me in the scheduling of doctors appointments?
A - The facility will make arrangements for or provide transportation to you in order to meet your necessary medical and dental needs if the facility makes the appointment for you.

Q - Will there be transportation to and from these appointments?
A - If the facility does not make the appointmet we will not provide transportation to the appointment. This enables the facility to make the appointment for the days coinciding with the bus schedule. The facility will also provide regularly scheduled transportation services for use by the residents for shopping and other outings. All other transportation is your responsibility or may (at the facility’s convenience), be provided for a fee.

Q - Will my mother be able to transfer to the nursing home if she gets worse?
A - All our assisted living residents will be able to transition to the nursing home if their care becomes greater than what we are licensed for, based on room availability at the time.

Q - What can you tell me about your staff and the services they provide?
A - The staff at MCAL are dedicated to taking care of our residents in a loving family atmosphere. Whether you need assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming or transportation our Certified Nursing Assistants can help you with all your activities of daily living.

Q - What activities are available and who develops them? Our activity person plans a monthly calendar of events and is posted on the board in the common area.
A - Activities are planned based on the interest survey done by our residents. We have scheduled outings for shopping, lunches and day trips to areas of local interest.

Q - How many residents do you accept?
A - Our facility has 32 apartments.

Q - What can you tell me about the layout of MCAL?
A - The facility has 4 common areas, living room, dining room, chapel, and recreational room each room consisting of 2,000 sq ft. Each apartment is approx. 500 sq ft. with living area, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. Our facility has a in-house beauty salon to meet residents needs.

Q - What is included in the monthly cost?
A - Three nutritious meals plus snacks, Medication assistance/administration, an active social and recreational program, weekly housekeeping and linen service, all utilities excluding phone and cable services, Emergency call system, ADL care and assistance, scheduled transportation for physicians visits (fee may apply), 24-hour access to staff supervision and assistance. The facility shall provide unscheduled and Emergency Care 24 hours a day by contacting emergency services. On call RN available 24 hours a day.

Q - Are the living spaces attractive and comfortable?
A - Yes, the living spaces are comfortable and homey.

Q - What housekeeping services are provided?
A - Weekly housekeeping with a deep cleaning once a month. Trash pick-up daily.

Q - How often is my laundry done?
A - Twice a week.

Q - Do you do any special diets?
A - No added salts or no concentrated sweets or a combination of the two. The facility will not be able to accommodate calorie count, sodium gram restriction or other more restrictive diets other than those listed. Any arrangement for meals that will be served to you in your apartment will be $2.00 per tray.

Q - What kind of nursing services are available?
A - The facility has an LPN on duty from 7am-7pm, seven days a week. The LPN can assist with administration and storage of medication, monthly vitals and weights. An on call RN is available 24 hours a day.
